Chapter 19 - GG Frezza (engraver copper )

Giovanni Girolamo Frezza Orvinio was born in the year 1659 and died in 1741 (see Note B on page 37 of this at the bottom of description)
He completed his studies in Rome and became famous young age engraver in copper.
reside in Rome and worked tirelessly until very late age. From
superb engraving on copper plate, perfectly smooth (about the size of 21.50 X 19 cm including the frame engraved surface, reproducing faithfully the angelic appearance of Our Lady of SS.ma Vallebona) (Sanctuary exists in the territory of Orvinio) incision I often admired and jealously kept by the parish priest of the Abbey Church of St. Nicola di Bari Orvinio, it is noted that the Frezza recorded for a devotion in Rome in 1740 at the ripe old age of 81 years.
the Corsini Gallery, located in Rome because of the Lungara n.10 Plan II - Prints Cabinet there is a statue of Frezza an engraving depicting an allegory on which and the name and surname of the Frezza and year 1727, is inscribed by the author as follows "to get in contact by Frezza face of the Church of Scotland near Piazza Barberini
This release is preserved in volume at 57 n.12 n.116.642.
same office keeps a book of the year 1837, classified Magler - Volume 4; Well on page 494 and 95 is described in the biography of Frezza and the incisions made by him, the book is written in German.
Opposite the door of the Church of Scotland is situated in Via delle Quattro Fontane (near Piazza Barberini) there is a No. 10 gate; Therefore, we believe that there was the home of the great artist who disappeared in the Hymn to remember me Orvinio (p.35).
In response to inquiries that have been completed, the house where the birth took Frezza, I think that being Manenti the 1st and 2nd floor of the civic n.147, 149-153 and 155, the house adjoining the Old Port, this now almost completely demolished to widen the road and overlooking the Piazza del Sole, former Square Casalino. This great son of
Orvinio increasingly expected to be duly honored and we hope that you remember someone for the upcoming third anniversary of his birth occurring in 1959. Almost all the works of
Frezza are reproductions of famous paintings and sculptures. At the Royal
Calcografia of Rome, located in the path of Printing, first floor, shall be kept recorded by Frezza the following branches:

116674 Portrait of a Prelate and Gentlemen

Since it is clear that the Frezza was a prolific artist, it must be considered as certain that in addition to copper kept at the parish and the Orvinio recordings listed above, they exist at other public and private galleries. In the Library
Tailors placed on the second floor of the Palace of the Academy of St. Luke is located in the homonymous square next to the Trevi fountain in Rome, I consulted the following books where mention is made of Frezza:

1) Allgemeines Lexikon der Kunstler Bildenden - Volume XII, Leipzig-printed-Verlag von EA Seemann - Year 1916 - On page 449 reads: born in Canemorto, places near Tivoli, in the year 1659 and died in 1741, followed by a list of works recorded by Frezza. Among these, it appears that he died in the year (ie 1741) he executed the engravings engraving and etching that are preserved in the Uffizi in Florence.
2) News of the carvings of St. John Istoriche Gori Gandellini - Tomo II - Siena 1808. On page 43-44 and 45 plus a description of the works he engraved it says: He learned the principles of design by Arnold Van Vestherant, was a lively wit and broad ideas, has left an infinite number of prints if carved by a chisel and etching, where you can admire the perfection of design and sweetness del taglio che innamora gli amatori dell’arte onde con ragione fu stimato uno dei primi intagliatori del suo tempo.
Excluding
Rome as the place where he could probably be death, because, think the reader should be Orvinio?
Now we'll see. The Frezza, in the year 1740, having reached the ripe old age of 81 years, perhaps present the approach of his death, decided to leave his home a souvenir in honor of Our Lady of SS.ma Vallebona, impacting on the Sacred Sembianze a perfectly smooth sheet of copper.
The beautiful work was done for his devotion in Rome in 1740 (certainly towards the end of that year, because it is undisputed that the Frezza has worked in engraving and etching even at the beginning of 1741, the year of his death). The beautiful incision is jealously preserved in the Parish Church of St. Nicholas of Bari in Orvinio.
If the copper plate that was engraved in Rome, as is apparent, as has come to Orvinio at that time that there were no airplanes, no cars, no railways, and even driveways, while there was not an intentional state is even rudimentary postal service or courier? Certainly
Frezza, who had shoulder 82 springs, presented soon its end, he left Rome, bringing with him his famous engraving in question, to return to its Orvinio where he died the same year 1741. Unfortunately
Parish Orvinio at that time had not yet set up the registry Acts of Death, which began only towards the end of the 18th century.

Continuation (From Orvinium to Orvinio)

subsequently found.

Following methods research carried out on a literal copy of the famous Summary of Farfa, I found the following news: In all of the following documents in the transcripts and that is:
- Document 1016 - Year 1075. Volume V - Page 19
- "1045 -" 1080. "" "47
-" 1095 - "1084. "" "90
-" 1255 - “ 1090 . “ “ “ 235
- “ 1205 - “ 1110 . “ “ “ 198

redatti, come vedesi, fra gli anni 1075 e 1110, ricorre costantemente il nome di Canemorto, mentre in quelli quì sotto elencati, che vanno fra gli anni 1012 e 1062, ricorre quello di Malamorte:

- Documento 450- Anno 1012 – Volume III - pagina 163
- “ 633 “ 1012 “ IV “ 31
- “ 635 “ 1012 “ IV “ 32
- “ 572 “ 1017 “ III “ 279
- “ 518 “ 1019 “ III “ 229 (*)
- “ 522 “ “ III “ 231
- “ 521 “ 1025 “ III “ 230
- “ 573 “ 1032 “ III “ 280
- “ 567 “ 1036 “ III “ 274
- “ 996 “ 1036 “ IV “ 375
- “ 570 “ 1038 “ III “ 277
- “ 776 “ 1044 “ IV “ 184
- “ 938 “ 1062 “ IV “ 332
